These questions were posed in the Live Shows calendars (the associated date in parenthesis). I don't try to ask extremely obscure questions, rather I stick to more significant connection and/or "historical" type questions - trivia doesn't have to be trivial. At this point no prizes are offered - other than the sense of pride in knowing the correct answers :-)

1. What does TAPS stand for? (Nov 8 ,1996)
   ANSWER: TAPS stands for Third Avenue Performance Space. It is actually an old church turn community center/performance space on High St. at Third Ave. A few years ago OSU's dance concerts were moved there while Sullivant Hall was being remodelled.

2. What's special about Bigfoot's bassist and main singer/guitarist? (Nov 15,1996)
   ANSWER: Bigfoot's bassist and main singer/guitarist are married to each other.

3. Bernie's (my second home) has a sandwich called a True Soul Rocker. Where'd that name come from? (Nov 22,1996)
   ANSWER: The True Soul Rockers was the name of Willie Phoenix's band several years ago.

4. Deep Purple two-fer: Who's Deep Purple's guitarist now; and what major musical was one member in? (Nov 29,1996)
   ANSWER: One time Dixie Dreg and solo jazz/fusion guitarist Steve Morse is now playing with Deep Purple?! DP vocalist Ian Gillan also sang/played the part of Jesus in a Jesus Christ Superstar recording (gee, I snuck in a Holiday theme - accidently).

5. From holy rock opera to holiday ballet ... How many acts is The Nutcracker; who wrote it; and what other ballets did he write? (Dec 6 ,1996)
   ANSWER: Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker has two acts. Tchaikosky also composed the ballets Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty.

6. From what family bloodline did Action Family most directly descend? (Jan 10,1997)
   ANSWER: Action Family descended most directly from Blood Family.

7. Of what group was Peter Schickele a member? (Jan 17,1997)
   ANSWER: Musical satirist Peter Schickele's counter ego, P.D.Q. Bach, is allegedly a member of the musically prolific Bach family.

8. What was ACME Art Co.'s basement performances/space known as a few years ago? (Jan 24,1997)
   ANSWER: ACME Art Co.'s basement performances/space was known as Cafe Ashtray.

9. What instrument does Derek DiCenzo play; and what's his day job? (Jan 31,1997)
   ANSWER: This was kinda a trick question. Derek DiCenzo is a multi-multi- instrumentalist. I've seen him on guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and steel drums. I think he does a bit of mandolin and who knows what else. As fer his day job, there were several guesses but none were correct?! He's the jazz guitar lecturer/instructor at OSU's School of Music!

10. What label is the Haynes Boys' somewhat recent full length release on; and what is the name of their own label? (Feb 7, 1997)
    ANSWER: The Haynes Boy's label is Whatever. Their recent full length is on Slab.

11. What rock icon nar)rated a fairly popular version of Peter and the Wolf? (Feb 14, 1997
    ANSWER: The man of a thousand personas, David Bowie, narrated a version of Peter and the Wolf.

12. What might be the Econothugs favorite breakfast food? (Feb 21, 1997)
    ANSWER: The Econothugs' favorite breakfast food may be beer or even downers, but the answer I was looking for is Flapjaks. Why? Two reasons: The 'thugs are direct descendents of the band Flapjaks and they still do Flap the tune Anthem which usually includes the final lyrics "Flapjaks rule!"

13. What band played the first OSU Stadium rock concert? When? (Feb 28, 1997)
    ANSWER: Pink Floyd was the first rock band to play the OSU Stadium on May 28, 1988.

14. What is the title of Heifer's new CD? (Mar 7, 1997)
    ANSWER: Heifer's new CD is called "It Will Be Comfortable."

15. In what other bands has the guitarist for Codename: Stingray been? (Mar 14, 1997)
    ANSWER: Craig, the guitarist for Codename: Stingray, currently plays bass in Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments. He also played guitar in Vibralux and Pica Huss (possibly my all time favorite live band!).
