The Means actually released two CDs this year - on two different labels. The first one, Community Horse, was heavier, harsher with more screaming. More death metal and stoner rock than the Pixies-meets-garage rawk of their debut CD. The Divine Right of Means, their second release of 2003, pries its way in somewhere between their debut and Community Horse. There's still some of that Pixian melody and quirkiness, a bit of the blues along with strong doses of scream song and apocalyptic doom. Plus they've added a few light-hearted samples and silliness into the mix.
